odgalvin
Hey,Our school uses the Leap Frog 48 Lighting Desk by Zero88 to light shows, and uses DMX, not Artnet. I was wondering about the program they have on their site: ZerOS Remote Monitor (1.0). I understand that to use the iPhone/iPad or PDA app you use a wireless router, but what about this software that I would assume does the same thing, but is not mentioned in any manual? Would connecting my laptop and the desk over a simple network switch and then running the software on my laptop work? Or am I missing something? Or even using a wireless router like you do with the iPhone/iPad app? Thing is, I have a spare network switch so it would be good if it was as simple as that. And then, what do I configure on the board, if anything? Thanks, Oliver.

jonhole
Hi Oliver, I plug my laptop directory into Leap Frog 48 & 96's and use it as a remote monitor, meaning I don't need to bother with TFT monitors anymore. You don't need to go through a switch / router or wireless station at all. However, during some training sessions I plug several consoles into a wireless router, and I can then switch between the different consoles to keep an eye on what's going on! Hope this helps! odgalvin
Oh excellent! And when you say plug directly, I assume you mean via ethernet? (not USB or whatever) And I could use it wirelessly too? That would be handy for going behind stage :)Thanks
jonhole
Yea, a single Ethernet cable between the two. Wireless works well too - with iPhone / iPod for the remote functions and iPad / Windows for the virtual desktops.
peter
Yea, a single Ethernet cable between the two.We should add that the Ethernet cable needs to either be a cross over cable, or your PC/Laptop needs auto crossover sensing. Newer Dell and Apple laptops do automatically crossover, but many do not. If you're using a switch, you need two straight cables.
