jonlx
Hi Everyone,I have recently bought a strand gsx for my daughters school. I was lead to believe it was working but it came without a power supply so I bought one from usedlighting, when I plugged it in the little display just started blinking. Now the question is have I done something wrong or was it already faulty, on the desk it said 24v 1amp max and after I looked at the supply it said 24v and 2.5amp so I bought another supply at the correct voltage/amps.Also does anybody know of anyone who can repair it or is there something I can do ?Apologies if this post is in the wrong place im new. Many thanks Jon
themadhippy
The current shouldnt matter as long as its more than required,is the psu AC or DC output? If you feel confident you could open the desk up and check none of the ribbon cables have come adrift. Mr Steve
From what I remember of the GSX, it's an AC supply.
pritch
From what I remember of the GSX, it's an AC supply. DC, according to the spec sheet.
rossmck
Are you using the XLR-like power connector or the round one next to it ? I've seen desks where one works and the other doesn't. The secondary PSU input expects a standard 24V DC supply. If this fails, if you're confident opening the desk there's a little reset button on the circuit board (about 1/3 of the way across the front of the desk from memory which you can hold whilst powering it up - this performs a "Birth Start" and will reset anything on the desk along with performing a full check as it boots. jonlx
Thanks to allThe secondary input seems not to be working so I have been using the XLR(with dc) and on checking the spec sheet it says it requires dc,I'll check the ribbons and try the reset and let you know. thanks again some time later I tried the reset and checked the ribbons still blinking with a static green led on the rear panel under where it says test any more ideas
