CP Alpha Spots/ Memo Function/Macros

Am I correct in thinking that a CP Alpha Spot will enable one to set a series of DMX values using an external controller and then store them in the instrument?

- AS Manual here, roughly page 18.

 

The idea being that I programme off-site with Magic Q PC and the Alpha Spots run onsite with no controller - it's a simple one look show.

 

Any views on what Clay Paky mean by "macros" would also be well received.
