DoctorStar
Morning all, I am considering using 2 x KAM Parbar for some back lighting effects but I don't want to use it on its stand. I would like to suspend it from a standard IWB.....can this be done? Does it have a point where a bracket/hook can be fixed? I know I am using this kit slightly out of context (Musical not disco/band) and that I should really daisy chain 8 LED PAR cans together but for our two night run, the Parbar seems a quick fix. gyro_gearloose
Theres nothing wrong with the Kam Par bar or the newer brighter version, the Powerbar. Don't turn your nose up at it just because its considered 'Disco' kit. Its really no different than using four LED cans, and its a lot easier to set up. As for hanging them from an IWB, yes you can. Along the top of the unit there are points where you could attach a couple of hook clamps. I think they even have thumb bolts in them already. jonathanhill
Or you could just use double hook clamps.
TomWeston
Or you could just use double hook clamps. just whack out the drill and bash on some clamps safety first ...... don't forget your safety bonds
WiLL
If I recall there are 4 'redundant' thumb screws aloing the top of the bar, presumably for affixing extra cans onto, I would put two G hooks onto two of these thumb screws and use a suitable safety bond. jonathanhill
Or you could just use a couple of double hook clamps and then not have to worry about finding drills and missing wires or fixing hook clamps to fixings that may not be suitable for suspension. DoctorStar
Many thanks for the prompt and helpful replies. Gyro....no nose turning intended at all......all the reviews and recommendations seem very positive and the unit meets my needs perfectly: as long as I can dispense with the stand. Thank you for pointing out the thumb bolts. Will report back with a photo! BW Ian
