obi wan kenobi
Hi, I have contacted a couple of my suppliers trying to get hold of PCC-160 mic's, only to be told that they are no longer imported due to RoHS compliance. Does anyone know of a suitable alternative to this mic or at least a supplier who stocks them? I have tried RW Salts and stage electrics so far. Thanks Obi
paulears
You'll find talk of replacements for the PCC-160 here EDIT - it's oddly now missing from the 10 out of 10 site? There is a data sheet here.
ramdram
** laughs out loud **. Thanks VERY, VERY much for the link to the mic tech specs Paulears. Our tech manager hired some for the summer season, swearing blind they were "just the job"...yet they were deemed as deaf as...needless to say we were not impressed and only he could tell they were working...we just presumed he was related to Batman. Having read the tech spec (none of the hires came with any blurb) I see, now, they work on phantom power. So if anyone cares to relate their experience of these mics, when actually powered up that is, then thanks up front. I would like to use some for our local panto, what with the chorus being mainly deaf mutes. It may be that perhaps these mics might be OK ish after all. (You need not remark on how vulnerable they are to being kicked by blinded actors...we know...)

pisquee
PCC160s are well built, and strong - The only real kisk from them being kicked or danced on is the noise it would make through the system, not actually damaging the mic (although the mini XLR/cable sticking out of the side of them is somewhat vulnerable)
