RoyJ
:) Hi all, we have had donated to our historical collection, a merlin 20 way preset and memory desk made by Lee northan magic. It seems quite an advanced board for its time, but one thing puzzles me.On the rear is 4 multicore connectors.Obviously for connection to the dimmers, but here is where the problem arises, there is also 2x so239 sockets. As a licenced radio amateur, I'm use to these sockets for use in the HF(high frequency 0-30Mhz) band. But in 25 years of stage lighting I have never seen these on a lighting board. So my question is,why and what are they for?I've seen BNC sockets used for power on lighting boards, but never so239,any help? Thanks Roy :(
Dmills
Stick a scope on them and see if there is composite video present? If so hook up a telly, IIRC the early strand computer boards used composite of 239s for monitor outputs. Regards, Dan.
