johnb
I need to hang a pair of fresnels (think minuette's but different manufacturer) for a Christmas event and am looking at suitable brackets to use. I'm looking at a fixed point rather than a bar, probably with one over hung and one under hung. Looking around all the usual suppliers they all supply the Doughty, and the closest I can find in their range is the T33900 Heavy Duty Wall Bracket. This looks like it should meet the spec - 25kg SWL compared to a total load of around 6kg. My only concern is that everything I come across says drilled and slotted to accept a saddle clamp, so not necessarily for what I'm after. Also I would have preferred two separate holes for the over and under hung lights to make it easier to fit and remove the lights. Has anyone else used these brackets in a similar manor, or is there someone more suitable that I've missed? John
niclights
How about two of these? I've used them to mount cans off walls.
Junior8
Anybody got any Ref 247s hanging about?
ramdram
If you are able to drill into the wall then simply cobble up an "L" shaped brkt. Drill for sleeve bolts/anchors/screws whatever and drill 10mm/12mm hole for yolk bolt. Probably need only one bolt hole to prevent a bolt head fouling the other yolk. I had something similar cobbled up for hanging vertical booms. 50mm wide strip, say, 8mm thick, say, as long as you need to stick out horizontally to allow lanterns to move as desired. 50mm x 8mm steel more than enough to support the weight you specced without bending. Cheap as.
