Moving light hire - Scotland

Hi all,

Been collecting quotes for movers today for a couple of jobs. Particularly 250's and 500's. I can find plenty of 250's but the 500's seem to have gone over time.

Im also considering other brands and models of profile movers but im keen to find out whos offering the best rates on moving lights in general. Companies such as MCL or SLX like to charge £85 a day for a Mac 250+ thats 10 years old and others charge £50 for a brand new Mac 250.

Just keen to see what people are finding out there in the Scottish market at the moment, I've been around all the regulars, but I know there are some lesser known companies with, quite often much better prices!

Wouldn't call them 'lesser' but Blueparrot seem to be fairly good on prices. Germaine (one of the owners) is a member here, hopefully he'll see this and get in contact, might be able to help you out..

I managed to get 4 x Mac 500's plus distro and cabling on hire from NL a few years back for 100 quid for the day. I did haggle a little though!

Just haggling? I think there was a favour in there your not proud of :)

I remember Germaine getting in touch donkeys ago over something, so if hes around (Not seen him in a while), get in touch!

Scott Munro (SM Lighting), Chris Gilles (CPE Glasgow) or Germaine/Jonnie (Blue Parrot) all of which have been excellent any time I've needed them ... I think I know this project - I'll be in touch but it seemed worth updating the thread with recommendations for the benefit of others :)
