Pete McCrea Posted November 18, 2010 Share Posted November 18, 2010 EasyJob 4 from Protonic Software is a very solid Rental Management System, that also has a range of add on modules such as webshops, online client access and business analysis tools. It is also reasonably priced at around €1800 for 5 consecutive logins with as many users as you wish. Considering the ability to manage your business from one place, it's definitely worth it in my eyes. One bug-bear I've had till now (and that's in over 5 years of use) is the lack of a decent English Manual. Well it has arrived! EasyJob 4 English Manual - 8Mb PDF, so not one for mobile downloads. If you've never used EJ, it's worth a read before you embark on playing with it, and I've learnt a bit reading it partway so far. There is also a free download of the software that enables 30 projects to be run, after which you'll need to activate the software or delete projects to keep under 30. It is a mission to get it running, and as with any Database, crap in = crap out, so you need to ensure that your records for items (an amp, or moving head etc) and Resources (People and Vehicles) are set up correctly. Once that is done, raising quotes is very quick, and the whole management of projects is very easy. I love it (especially as we're running on a new server that has speeded it up no end!). I don't stand to gain anything from this post, other than hopefully more users taking EJ on, and helping to ensure they continue to develop and improve the software. Pete.
