mitchellawson
I turned on Zero 88 beta pack 3 dimmers and 2 of them gave me a slow blinking light, whereas 1 of them gives a fast blinking light and 1 that works with a green light? Any idea what to do? I think its the DMX connection to the board and data isn't passing from the board into the dimmers properly - so any ideas what I need to check or do ?? boatman
Which is the one that works? If it's the first in the DMX chain then the problem is quite likely to be a broken cable between the first and second packs.
mitchellawson
its number 2 which works but thats the one thats sends DMX to all the other dimmers and the desk so ill try a new cable tomorrow I think I have a brand new DMX cable in its packet so I shall try that ty :) but failing that I havent a clue
topsy100
sorry to be picky but the DMX comes from your desk not from dimmers, it really sounds like a cable issue
WiLL
The DMX line is often called a 'daisy chain' as it emerges from the desk and then enters and exits each 'device' in the line, joining them together like a daisy chain. It's normally easy to spot where the DMX fault may lie as it will be between the last properly functioning unit and the first non-functioning one. Devices shouldn't have to be switched on for the chain to work and it is far more likely for a cable to be at fault then it is for a properly maintained socket on a device. Ergo, first diagnostic is almost always swapping the link cable between the last functioning device and the first non-functioning one with a known working cable.Hope that helps.
