ImagineerTom
We've got a Barcovision 9200 projector, runs beautifully BUT we don't have the infrared controller for it. I've contacted Barco and as it's not been made for a while they don't have any in stock and couldn't help - does anyone have a remote for this unit knocking around or knowledge of any compatible controller? Ideally we'd like the full range of controls but could make-do with just being able to take it in and out of standby. t
scjb
Might be easier to knock up a RS232 remote... otherwise they do pop up on eBay every now and again. Sorry can't be more help.
back_ache
how about controlling it from a pc? If you don't want to knock something together yourself, I believe barco has ready made software. might be worth a hunt around http://www.barco.com/en/support
ImagineerTom
I'm really after a more conventional remote control as the range of people operating it means having to mess around with software is going to lead to complications whereas anyone can understand a "tv remote" and work out how to switch it in and out of standby. :)
back_ache
Then why not just use a universal remote, I would think barco's have been kicking around long enough for them to already have the codes preprogrammed in them.
ImagineerTom
I'd be very surprised is mass-market consumer / home electronics "universal" controllers are programmed up with the IR codes of a discontinued, highly specialist piece of industrial equipment. If anyone knows of a model that is or which can be re-coded (without another remote to mimic/learn from - obviously) then I'm all ears?
timsabre
You can use a Philips Pronto programmable remote - see: http://www.remotecentral.com/cgi-bin/codes/barco/ There are only a few flavours of IR remote coding out there and it is unlikely that Barco have invented a new one. adamharman
I have a selection of barco 6000 and 9000 series projectors. The remotes are slightly different (some have more functions than others) but they all seem to work ok with all the projectors so presumably the IR codes are the same. Unfortunately I don't have a spare one to sell you, but this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Barco-CRT-Projector-...=item4aa5a1f037 is the sort of thing you're looking for. I'm not saying that one will definately work, but it may be worth a try. Also, the projectors and remotes are addressable. remotes set to address 0 will operate a projector set to any address, otherwise they need to be set the same as the projector for individual use. Pete McCrea
£150 ish and an Ikon AVS Pod will give you a Single Gang MK wall plate with several buttons to assign to required functions. It then links to the unit with RS232 enabling easy control of the projector by non technical types. Extron and other manufacturers do equivalent units, but the Ikon guys might be the most helpful in terms of getting it programmed.
