RGB Spot
How good are snow machines around the £80 to £100 pound mark. Does the snow look like foam or flakes, and does it wet the floor or mark it?
Ali2580
Your question is quite difficult to answer - have you got a certain machine in mind? No one can really answer your question just now as you might be on about a new snow machine or used snow machine? It's like saying how good is a moving light at £250? It could be brand new imported from China or it could be an ex-hire Martin mover. Your question is quite difficult to answer without information and just a price. Hope this helps. dbuckley
You might like to look around on the Planet Christmas forum; the Christmas nutters (and I mean that most respectfully) use snow machines and there will be pictures and opinions. andrewg112
We were going to use a cheaper one in a Christmas show last year for a little ballet scene. It ended up that we couldn't because it sounded like someone was hovering backstage! Great fun at the end of the show though with a loud upbeat finale song! My advice would be to use Paper! Ali2580
It ended up that we couldn't because it sounded like someone was hovering backstage... My advice would be to use Paper! Once had a student show turn up with a snow machine - they were doing Alice In Wonderland. They had bought the machine off Ebay and had never tested it before they turned up at the venue. So we flew the machine and turned it on. Turns out that the music had to be turned up extremely* loud to cover the sound of the hover being switched on for the snow. Also had another show that had a homemade snow machine flown the other week. Which consisted of tiny pieces of paper and industrial tubes flown across the length of the stage and someone shaking it in the flies. Worked really well. * = exageration
