ichilton
Hi, I was wondering if anyone uses any of the multitude of iPhone audio apps like SPL meters, RTA's, FFT's etc and if so, which ones they have tried, would recommend and how accurate they are? Thanks, Ian
originalshez
I know there's a tone generator app which is quite useful if the desk your using doesn't have one.
Ynot
Er, we've done the 'apps' topic before - can I suggest you do a search and see what was there...??

Jack-handy
An App. to stop the screen disintegrating when flexed would seem to be overdue: The iPhone users I've worked with seem to spend a disproportionate amount of time looking for somewhere safe to put their 'phone while they perform any kind of physical work; then trying to remember where they put the damn thing (not to mention the times I've had to turn the van around & go back for it!) The two vendors that seem to do a decent product are Faber Acoustical and Studio Six Digital. It's only ever going to be a guide due to the mic in the iPhone not being calibrated. Also the input circuit hard clips at 100db. Studio Six sell an external interface and mic to overcome this http://www.studiosixdigital.com/iphone_mea...t_micropho.html however at that point you've got a two box solution and it's getting into point where you should just buy a dedicated box such as something form NTI http://www.nti-audio.com/Home/Products/Min...77/Default.aspx

Think of all the time that folks would not have wasted looking for their stuff.
