pwalmsley
Hi Just a quick question on Fixture Libraries; every time I've used intelligent lighting before, the desk has had the fixture library for the fixture I've been using. However my theatre company is for some reason putting on a production in a school in a week and a half, and the console I'm lumped with is a Zero 88 JesterML24. This seems to have the libraries for just about every other fixture in the world, except for Showtec CS4s, which I'm using. Will this be a problem? Surely I can just plug in, set the DMX addresses as usual, and control the five DMX channels of each lamp in the stack? It's hardly the greatest desk to do it on, but I'll manage! Any advice much appreciated Paul
niclights
You can always do things by patching dimmers. However, you might have more luck if you looked for Studio Due CS4's ;)
rossmck
However, you might have more luck if you looked for Studio Due CS4's :** laughs out loud **: Thought that myself ... but they are advertised as a Showtec product under the name Showtec Studio Due :/ http://www.highlite.nl/index.php/highlite/...theatrelighting Is this a blatant copy (wouldn't expect that from showtec) or is it similar to the situation with the Zero88 Diablo which I believe was shared with Chauvet? tokm
Studio Due & Showtec have some sort of partnership going. i.e. Showtech acts as a distributor of Studio Due kit. You could buy Studio Due kit through them in the UK, but obviously the more sensible idea's to just give Ian Brown (uk Studio Due rep) a call and work out what will likely be a better deal! There's an ET Now article to support all this, containing a key paragraph:Let’s begin with the numbers: over 5000 of their own products, designed by Highlite and manufactured in the Far East, supplemented by a few leading brands such as Griven, Studio Due, Antari and Doughty Full article here >> Link Hope this clears things up.
