TomHoward
Evening all, We've got a fair amount of tabs / curtains that are already in storage bags, but at the moment they're in a huge pile backstage, and cleaning around them or moving them out of the way if the space is needed is a real pain. I'm wondering about finding some large storage hoppers etc so that we can keep them off the floor and move them out of the way when needed. If anyone has any suggestions or sources, or other ways of storing tabs I'd be grateful to hear them.
jonathanhill
How about something like the big versions of these: http://www.keyonline.co.uk/mobile-polyethy...LM02072908.html Used to use them in a venue when I was resident for softs.
jfroment
I've seen these being used for really large cloths:http://www.alisonhandling.com/plastic_boxes/products_54.htmlThey are really easy to use
mrjammy83
if they are already bagged up why not try and get hold of some roller cages from a local supermarket or distribution centre. We currently throw all our bagged up cloths into some of these and wheel them out the way. roll cages Quite surprised how cheap they are ( I must be missing something)
TomHoward
Those first two are pretty much what I was thinking of - a wheeled bin, or a solid plastic pallet, and buy a pallet jack to move them. The supermarket roll cage is a good suggestion, but I'd worry a little bit about the height - the tabs can be pretty heavy in their bags so may be difficult to get in the top. Our catering dept seem to use these, I'll ask what their arrangement with them is - we may already own some, or they may be the suppliers.
Gareth A
Ill agree with Mr Hill for once! - Go for his suggestion - they are good for everything, and being on wheels dont need anything else. Also you can use it for storing cables and stuff, so very versatile. Also really comfortable to sleeping on top of when loaded with cloths!!! henny
I know of a few venues that use wheelie-bins , they gather the bottom of the drape into the bin before they bring the bar in then help it in as the bar lowers so you end up with the ties at the top of the bin so you can fly it back out of the bin and the drape never touches the floor
Kevne
Not unlike Mr Hill's suggestion, in the past I have used plastic water tanks (from B&Q I think) mounted on dollies. The end product is essentially the same thing, but possibly a bit cheaper.
Bryson
I believe these are the best possible solution if you have the floorspace. Obviously that link's from Canada, so you'll need to find a UK supplier. Here's something similar.
robloxley
Standard lidded Teacrates and dolly? Have the advantage of being stackable, various sizes, robust etc.
