archmac123 Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Now, I'd like to know how to play back a registered scene (with time transition between 2 scenes). I know how to record a scene and play back it with B sliders. But I don’t clearly understand the manual. I'd imagine that you'd want to have the 2 scenes programmed into the C and D faders, set the fade time using the sliders and crossfade between the two.

I'd like to use C and D faders. But, I want the fade time to be registered and not set manually (I remember it was possible to enter the fade time in the scene menu).Thanks.
DrV Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Hi everybody, First, I want to apology for the delay but I was really busy. Thank you very much for your help for the memory card, I will contact the french MX supplier. Now, I'd like to know how to play back a registered scene (with time transition between 2 scenes). I know how to record a scene and play back it with B sliders. But I don't clearly understand the manual. Can somebody describle me clearly how to do this ? Thanks a lot.I'll try but I don't have an MX in front of me right now... You've succeeded in programming a series of scenes into the B faders 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 etc. Make sure you are in scene mode (scene/channel switch) On the display you should see what is at the top of page 26 of the manual. Set the C and D faders to 0 (C down and D up). On the display put a 1.1 against the top line where it says C:1.5 in the manualPut a 1.2 against the line below where it says D:1.BL in the manual. Now bring up fader C and it will bring up your scene 1.Next move both faders down to C=0 and D=100% and it will cross fade to your scene 2. When they both reach the bottom te display will change as it loads your scene 3 into fader C.Now when you crossfade from D back to C it will crossfaded from your scene 2 to scene 3 and load scene 4 into D and so on. The times for the crossfades are those which were set when you originally recorded the scenes but you can edit them using the scene edit menu which you can also see at the bottom of page 26. Once you've done it once you'll see that it is pretty easy! Goos luckDaveEdit to add: The B faders must all be down when you are playing back in this way otherwise they will add to the output. Also, I think the time faders need to be at 0 too but I'm not sure about this.

TonyF Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 The memory card for the MX is Strand part number 66114 and claims to be 64KB. I have used cards from Z88 in the past with success on an MX. It's a thin piece of plastic (85x53x4mm). There is a slot one end into which is inserted a BR2325 button cell battery. On the opposite end are the holes that marry up with the connector on the MX console. The programme software is held in a couple of Eproms. Latest known release is 2.3. The software version briefly appears on the LCD screen at power up.The external monitor needs to be an RS232 terminal or a PC running "MXTERM". There is no Monitor output to the printer/terminal port on consoles running "A" version software. Version "B" may work but will need to verify. To get the best out of the console, suggest updateing to the lattest version of software. K Hi Andy,we have stock of a 128K SRAM card, do you happen to know if the MX card slot was ever set up to take this size of card? BWRichard PS - are you going to the Strand re-union on the 13th? Richard, I know this is an old post but do you still have any of those Melcards lying around?Cheers, TonyF
