Laser mirror replacement

DrV

Recommended Posts

One of my regular customers has brought in a disco laser which has had the mirrors snapped off. The rest of it works so I'd like to get hold of some mirrors. They would have been about 1cm square and glued into a slot in a small boss which in turn goes onto the shaft of a stepper motor. Has anyone got an idea where I might find such parts? Haven't managed to find anything on the web and eulights.com is u/s

Thanks

Dave

These are almost certainly Silverstar, they were also sold by Soundlab..though good luck trying to get parts out of them.

You might have better luck trying to find an old scanner mirror and chopping that up to size. It's best if you use a surface-silvered mirror.

They appear on ebay from time to time with duff laser tubes, maybe this is another way.

Try contacting laserwave uk (Rob) He has spare mirrors to fit DT scanners for £10 pair I believe. They may be a bit thick to fit some scanner grooves but they can be bent wider to accomodate (I know, I've done a few!)

If your scannrs are actually stepper motors they may have huge bosses (I've seen some real slabs of glass in cheap projectors) Maybe measure the thickness with some calipers first

Thanks Norty and Kevin. Looks like laserwave has the part. Will make some measurements and work out what size the originals were.

Cheers

Note that the mirrors shown on the website are for use with mounts, not scanners. If you want scanner mirrors contact Rob directly and tell him you need new scanner mirrors. He does 2 sizes I believe, regular 5mm wide ones, and some wider mirrors for use with fat beam lasers like big 635nm and 650's. However I think they'll all be the same thickness.
