ianhornby
I've just completed writing a new comedy play and want to add an effect, namely drips from a leaky roof into various metal containers, each with its own frequency. I can parobably change the frequency if I have one, though I would need to set the pitch to a musical note. Any ideas anyone?

Ynot
Maybe listen to classic tracks of a similar idea - "April Showers" from Bambi springs to mind...
richb
Have set up suspended buckets before, with a (hammer type - ie 'ding-dong') mechanism in the bucket to strike the bottom for the drip, and the bell wire running down the rope. Has proved very effective. Combine this with tuned sufaces (eg the bars from within the bell itself, or the single note, xylophone style, bars often used in schools), dampen a little so it doesn't sound too 'musical', have a 'keyboard' of bell pushes in the wings for someone to operate... Suspect this might be the way I'd go...if I understand your aim correctly. HTH
