Leaglity of hiring out Rane SL3 Serato

Am I right in thinking we'd need some sort of seperately licensed version of Serato to hire out with an SL3?

Thanks in advance.

As a sound provider you are only hiring the hardware that connects between the CDJs/SLs and the DJ mixer. Each Serato DJ that turns up to play has a (hopefully licenced) copy of the Serato software on his/her laptop and usually the hardware interconnect in their laptop bag, in case the club or event tech does not provide this.

Of course the real benefit in providing the hardware is to assist in smooth DJ changeovers and preventing DJs messing with your wiring.

I suppose it is open to abuse from a licencing perspective if a DJ has an illigitimate copy of the software, but then they won't have the hardware interconnect (I don't believe you can just buy the hardware - may be wrong?) and I thought most DJs spend hours at home honing their skills, listening to promos and rehearsing their sets, thus would need to have bought the full Serato kit to do this properly.

I don't know, hence the ask. I'm pretty ignorant when it comes to DJ equipment / software. I assumed that for commercial purposes things might be slightly different. I couldn't find many Google returns of people hiring it out.
