mikewillson
Hi I would like to know if there are any rules or official recommendations on using a strobe light in a bar E.g How much strobing requires me to add an epilepsy warning sign on my door? I am from the UK Regards Mike
jonathanhill
From memory, you must post signs to advise patrons of the use of strobes, you may not use a flash rate above 4Hz, and if you use multiple strobes they must either be synchronised or must not collectively flash above the 4Hz rate. Brian
Hi Mike, welcome to the Blue Room. This question has been asked a number of times before and there is quite a lot of info already here. Have a search and read.
ImagineerTom
On behalf of the majority of you patrons, please don't use a strobe. People go to a bar to drink and talk, occasionally have a bit of a boogie. Strobes are very distracting and annoying for EVERYONE in the room. Sometimes in a bar strobes are used appropriately, however I feel that there are also suitable time for strobe to be used eg. at particular points during a club night. I do fully agree that strobe is inappropriately used, but that does not mean that all use of strobe is distracting or annoying to everyone.
