Showcomms Posted December 6, 2009 Author Posted December 6, 2009 Do you use comms but want to know more about how it works and how you could employ your comms kit to it's full advantage? Stage & Event Comms training day. It can be hard to get training and Comms seems to be one of those disciplines you have to pick up at some point along the way. This 1 day course will start from the basics and build up to a complex stage intercom system with wired rings, wireless betpacks, simplex radio and constant carrier base stations. The day will be based around the following topics 2 wire intercom systems - what are they? basic how they work?Tecpro or RTS systems4 wire comms Simplex radio interfacing Tecpro and RTS2 wire to 4 W interface nullingRadio base station InterfaceWireless Belt packs - analogue or digital - where each one falls down.Interfacing Tecpro/Clearcom/RTS When I set up Showcomms 7 years ago one of my goals was to raise the profile of Comms afterall good comms are critical for any show. When I posted my first offer of training it probably wasn't very appealing, the business was at early days and I hadn't really formulated any structure and we were more into RTS than Tecpro systems. Since that original posting we have had 2 trainees who have worked for us whilst at college. I have given training days at PMI, Dimension Audio and The Barbican centre and we now have a wide range of Wired and Wireless Communications. If you would like to join us on one of the first new COMMs training days in 2010 please send me an email to info@showcomms.co.uk. Thank you What do I know about comms? Well not everything as I am still learning as the technology changes and the expectations get ever more sophisticated but I can pass on some of the stiff I have picked up and I am sure you will also teach me something I missed along the way!
