diversmoke
Hi forum.I'm new here and in need of a bit of help. I have tried getting a good smoke effect with the Magican (smoke-in-a-can). The problem is I cannot use a smoke machine and I cannot have naked flames (like in a bomb). So the magican is perfect if it wasn't because the smoke is so thin and hazy. I need a product that is like the magican but with a thick smoke (colour or white). Does such a thing exist? Or do you another idea? TechOllie
What is the reason of not being able to use a smoke machine? Ollie
Sound In Gloucestershire
if you cant use a smome machine because of smoke alarms, then you wont be able to get around this
soundo26
this one is a canister based system, but any smoke/haze system will set off smoke alarms. http://www.smokemachines.net/buy-le-maitre...ist-turbo.shtml
IJWesley
So the magican is perfect if it wasn't because the smoke is so thin and hazy. We tried the canned smoke for a production of Urinetown - absolutely useless. In the end we went for small containers of warm water into which we carefully dropped small pellets of dry ice. Depends on the effect you are after of course - we just needed isolated puffs of smoke to imitate steam escaping from strategic points around the stage in one scene, so all the crew had to do was load up the cans at the appropriate moment and watch the mist drift out.
