Feed me AV
Hi guys, I was wondering if any of you have used the Kramer 747 switcher. I've been looking for a new one and this seems a very cost effective mixer. I've been in contact with the Analog Way rep and he's been telling me about the new Pulse models but they are a lot more and I've hired A.W switchers before, I must admit a fair few years ago now and they were very unreliable. I did do a quick search on seamless switchers but only old post came up so some updated reviews would be a great help. I like the idea of the Kramer VP-747 with the VP-747T. The VP-747 has only just been released in the UK - so there will be only a limited pool of users - best thing to do is contact us, and we can arrange a demonstration. If you are in the UK - please call 01296 330011
Feed me AV
The VP-747 has only just been released in the UK - so there will be only a limited pool of users - best thing to do is contact us, and we can arrange a demonstration. If you are in the UK - please call 01296 330011 I've spoken to Mike Shaw and he's going to give me a call later today if they have a demo unit in. I just wanted to know if anyone had used one and could tell me if they were any good. Also how they compare to the Analog Way Pulse range.
KDD
I have been using the vp-719 and vp-724 for some time now, and they have both been brilliant piece of kits with no issues. I have also used the Anaolog way - smart cut on sveral events and again a very good piece of kit which has a few features to make it that bit better. Never used the new range from Analog Way
AHYoung
we Have both used and sold various Kramer units for a while now and you cant really fault them at the price. The 747 is basically a continuation of the 727d which its a usefull unit once combined with the T bar remote. Remember it is a Dual scaler switcher rather than a vision mixer, and you will experience a few frames of delay if you are using it with live cameras at events. The delay is noticable, but thats very much due to the fact that its a scaler not a mixer and all the processing adds delay. If you are mixing cameras with a bit of graphics and need sdi in and out you might find the panasonic hs300 mixer would be a better solution, but if you dont need sdi and you need to connect a wide variety of sources id go for the Kramer as the ability to plug pretty much and know analogue video, vga, dvi or hdmi signal in and output at any resolution analogue or digital is pretty handy. remember and buy some vga - bnc fanouts and Id recomend leaving them plugged up as its no fun connecting them in the back of a cramped rack.there are plenty other units out there, but the kramer does a lot for the money... If you dont need to cross fade, look at the Kramer 728/729/730 as they offer seamless switching from multiple sources.
Tim gregory
Have a look at the TV One Seamless Switchers. They look like very good units for the prices. AC Entertainment distribute the TV One gear. Tim
