Only comment about that is the fact that it's PC programmable -

..no fiddly DIP switches to worry about

I'd personally need to know that once programmed it held the DMX address without fail, and certainly without the need to be permanently connected to a PC...

Given that it stored the zero levels and upper voltage levels and tells you to disconnect the USB one expects that this unit will store the DMX address. I ordered it last night, ill have to see what it does when I get it delivered. now come the fun bits.

Does anyone know what the exact upper voltage for the full 100% should be and the lower voltage. is it as simple as -10.0000 volts for 100% and 0.0000 volts for 0%? apparrently this unit im getting can get within 8mV of accuracy.

It's not that crucial - you can adjust the two pots on the trigger PCB to suit. One of them sets the voltage at which the triggering stops (I.e zero output) and the other sets the range (i.e. 100% output). There's the full procedure in the service manual which someone linked to earlier although this makes it sound more complicated than it really is!

You may find that the pots have gone very noisy after all this time. According to my notes a Farnell 960-821 is a suitable replacement for RV1. Haven't got a note about the other one

Hi Team ID the dimmer

fliggygeek - Bytecraft (I work for them) have been repairing and supplying

bits for these dimmers for years and I will gladly chat to you (Cal Bytecraft Sudney) about what you

want to do. just be careful opening up the boxes.

With the demux unit you wont need much current but the distance can be a problem

for the low voltage and you have to make sure there is no loss.

Hi all, Just an update, sorry it took some time, I have a bit going on right now. The demux unit came today, ive boxed it in a temporary housing for testing, and hope to get to the theatre asap. and some eye candy for the hell of it.

As far as the configuration goes, the board comes with a usb interface and some simple software to set the output voltage and DMX address. the voltage being set in tiny increments, also the zero level is settable. Easy to do, but im all out of 5 pin DMX leads to test the demux with, so that will have to wait.
