Hi All,

Can someone please remind me or point me in the right direction for how to load a fixture library from a floppy disk onto the strand 530i.

I have successfully got the fixture library I want on floppy disk, but how do I get it onto the desk now?

Any help muchly appreciated.

Many Thanks

Andy

Its just a text file so I think you just open the file from the floppy in the notes display screen, and copy and paste it into your existing fixture file (replacing it).

Its been a while since I've done this also so it may be wrong!

As long as you're comfortable working with an old-fashioned DOS prompt, my favoured method is to drop out of the GeniusPro software (shut it down, then press Ctrl-X at the shutdown screen), manually copy the FIXTURE.LIB file from the floppy disc into the C:\220OS\ directory, and restart the software.

Do you know the exact coding I need to do this?

If your fixtures are in a fixture.lib file, shut down the desk in the usual way, then when the screen informing you it is safe to shut down appears, press CTRL-X to drop to a DOS prompt. Put your disk in the drive.

To make sure you don't overwrite your old fixture.lib file, you should rename it - that way you can get it back in future.

To do this, type

ren c:\220OS\fixture.lib c:\220OS fixture.000

Then, to copy your new fixture file type

copy a:\fixture.lib c:\220OS\fixture.lib

Of course, if your fixtures are in a SSF file, load it in the same way you would load a show in the archive screen, but only select fixtures rather than whole show.
