jturner8
Has anyone had any problems with the brooke digital amps. Brought a set a few months ago acording to the manual they are supposed to be outputing 2000w at 4ohms but they are not doing this. has anyone else had any problems with these amps or any of the other brooke amp range
Bobbsy
The main datasheet for your amp on the Brooke website seems to be a bad link but the blurb about the amp says it's "up to 2300 watts into 2 ohms". This would be more like 1150 into 4 ohms (and, of course, there's no details about the power bandwidth, distortion or even whether this is peak or continuous). However, it would probably help if you could say how you've worked out that your amp isn't outputting the power you expect? Bob
jturner8
The manual that we have for this amp says BRDS2000 8 ohm 1000W4 ohm 2000W2 ohm 2300W this is continous power according to the manual The BRDS1300 is8 ohm 650W4 ohm 1300W2 ohm 1500W again this is continous power I tried to power these amps up again and two of the come on and stayed on and two of the come on and then went straight back off again. They would not power up until I removed the load off the back of the amp then when I powered them up they stayed on. Any ideas on why this is the case. revbobuk
What is the load? How is it made up? And when you describe testing it, is it the same load that you try with all 4 amps?
jturner8
The load I am talking about is JBL cabs. We turned the volume controls down to zero and then turned the first one on it worked then we did the same with the other three. one of them come on but the other two come on for a brief second and then went straight back off again. To get them to turn on and stay on we had to disconnect the speakon out of the back of the amp then turn the amp on then wait 30 seconds before connecting the speakon back into the amp and then turning the volume up. Mixermend
I haven't yet come across Brooke products - but they have a Web site and UK demonstration facilities - and offer support via this Web site, or phone 08456 002255. They are best placed to help you with your problem (and hopefully will be very keen to resolve any possible fault issues with their products). Let us know how you get on.........
