Im using a soundlad GO18WH 512 DMX controller (if anyone has a manual they could email me I would be greatful) and I can only get one or two of the lights on, each unit and in manual mode it only seems to be comming through on 2 channels .. Any ideas before I phone for the men in the white coats ** laughs out loud ** Regards Gary
james.sealey Posted October 2, 2010 Posted October 2, 2010 Have you tried pahse changing your DMX? I seem to recall running into issues before with them on DMX and changing the phase of the DMX sorted things out. J
gazmac Posted October 7, 2010 Author Posted October 7, 2010 Hi yes I have trid the phase changing with no difference and I have tried the dip switches to make 41 the only thing I can think opf is I have them in the wrong order could be a master slave but I didnt think that was the case with DMX Cheers Gazmac
Brian Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 ...have them in the wrong order could be a master slave but I didnt think that was the case with DMXThe master will need to be the first one in the chain. Its DMX output connects to the first slave and so on.
dekw1 Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 "and I have tried the dip switches to make 41" ?????????
gazmac Posted October 8, 2010 Author Posted October 8, 2010 Hi guys Brian many thanks for getting back im not sure which one is the master I was reading another thread about these lights and that they work of DMX 512 and that to get the best settiongs were to set the dip switches to make up 41 if you get my drift here is the article http://www.blue-room.org.uk/index.php?showtopic=999 I usually dont have any bother with DMX setups but these seem to be a pain I have tried to set them up in various different ways and have had no luck ....... Cheers gazmac
Jivemaster Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 NJD stuff goes master if there is channel set to zero (all dip switches off) and no DMX imput or no plug in the input. If you plug a working controller in then they should go into DMX receive mode and respond to input DMX. Simple diagnostics, controller to each spectre individually -do they all work properlyGood controller to known good spectre with each of the DMX leads, -are all the leads OK
gazmac Posted October 15, 2010 Author Posted October 15, 2010 Hi I have them working now so thanks for all the help it was the newer six pin spectre that was the master and the dip switch had to be on 32 to get all the effects from them .... many thanks gazmac
