Frisco
Hi guys, long time reader, first time poster. Unfortunately my Stealth Laser has done the inevitable and now I'm looking for a younger, fresher and more exciting model. It'll be used in a nightclub for about 600 people, so doesn't need to be powerful enough to touch satellites orbiting the earth, but does need to "heighten the experience" of the punters (1.6-2.2w I'd say) Any advice on what to go for (preferably with links) would be greatly appreciated. Ideal budget is less than £10k. Thanks
Ashley R
Is this 600 people with room to move or is it a packed in 600 people? As I've done events for 700+ people in a dark warehouse where I rigged a few 100mw Green Chinese lasers and they were ample bright enough to cut through the other 8 250w Moving heads there. Is 1.6-2.2w really necessary? Mind you my Lasers that I used were just cheap Chinese pieces of junk and I would expect a lot more output and a tighter beam from a higher quality diode. Sorry I cant offer you any suggestions for brands or models as im not in the UK. (I'm assuming your in the UK, Please fill in your info as per the Terms and Conditions)
nightstorm2010
Good evening, what type of lasers are you looking at using, moving heads, or static, multi coloured or single colour, I know of a few, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to put links on here, sure someone will correct me. Would have a big impact on your cost as you'd have to now 'prove' its safe (which inevitably means scanfail, or physical blanking), both of which are costly. What kind of distance from head to punter face are you looking at minimum?
pritch
I'm not saying that you won't get answers here, but you may get a bigger range of answers on a different forum:http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/forum.php
ANDYLASER
500mW would probably be ample in a venue of that size, depending on the ambient lighting conditions. For an "off the shelf" solution, Kvant are some of the best lasers you can buy. Their UK dealer is in Sussex and well respected. You will have plenty of change from your £10K budget, http://www.synchrovision.co.uk/

Fairly priced as well, so fingers crossed.
LXbydesign
For helpful info to others, let us know the outcome - and even better, post up a couple of pics during the demo (in working conditions of course!)
ANDYLASER
1.6W RGB should be superb in a venue that size. Look forward to seeing the results.
