adamski1010
hey all just wanted to bring this to everyones attention: Midas Venice F Not sure if anybody has taken a look yet or had a play. im wondering what price they are going to be and if they are any better than the old midas?sam They will be the same price as the equivilent old Venice model. They are a HUGE step up from the old Venice. Everything that was wrong with the old model (a fairly lengthy list) has been corrected on this new version. They have also included a cool new Firewire interface which is a nifty wee feature (which actully works really well). It has taken the venice to the next level, it is finally a truly professional product and can now compete with the likes of the GB4/8 and GL2800 in terms of features and quality. adamski1010
A midas being brought UP to a level where it can compete with a GB4 or GL...... how the mighty have fallen A The original venice was never really a true Midas, unlike their other consoles, it was made to a budget and designed for small bands, pubs and clubs. It lacked the feature set and quality of the Soundcraft GB range and A&H GL range, despite being considerably more expensive than both. The only thing it really had going for it was the badge. However this new one corrects all of that and makes it a real alternative in the small/ medium range pro analogue console market. No other console in this price bracket packs as many features as the new Venice, with Midas quality and sound. Cheers-a Edit: Corrected quotes

Ben Lawrance
layout aside though, have you heard one yet? I'll have my hands on one relativly soon, so I'll be able to answer that question.
adamski1010
layout aside though, have you heard one yet? I've had a wee play with one and it sounded fine. Responsive EQ and good sounding preamps. However I have not mixed a show on one so I cant really compare it to other consoles.

savage1
I wonder if we are going to see a VeniceM as in a dedicated monitor venice.
TonyMitchell
I wonder if we are going to see a VeniceM as in a dedicated monitor venice. I can't see that happening - the layout and buss structure would need to be quite far removed from that of a traditional Venice (or Venice F) to make a worthwhile small dedicated Mons desk with a decent number of mixes, to the degree that it would no longer be a Venice as we know it. Generally, operating at Venice level, you're unlikely to want/need a separate Mons desk anyway. As an aside, I think the "F" is for Firewire, not FOH Just my 2p
