Get yourself a an upright wooden chair with arms from the local house clearance shop, some ply, a glue gun, some ping pong balls, some 3/4 inch rope, red velvet, gold paint and clear varnish and get busy. There are plenty of images on the net to use as a guide.

We've got one you could hire but you would have to collect from Southport!!

I've always used chairs from whichever High Church happens to be nearest and amenable.

I'd have also recomended scouring the local churches for something like this. I remember as a child, the church I attended had a 'throne' like chair, so it may be a safe bet, especially if you advertise them in the programme? i.e. Throne provided by St. Mary's Church, (town name here). etc.
