MobileMikey
Hi all, Im having some problems with a new jester ML. The wheels are not working correctly. They are stiff and the right hand wheel doesnt work at all. The centre wheel works sometimes- ie will control tilt but will not control dimmer The thumb wheel is ok as far as I can tell. I have double checked the patching and the fixture is in the correct mode. Im using a mac 250 krypton as an example but am having similar problems with rode 575. I bought the dest some time ago on special offer and it has sat in a warehouse since, so I dont think sending it back is an option. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciatedMikey
david.elsbury
Have you tried contacting Zero88 Support? It sounds like your desk could be faulty, especially as you say they are stiff.
pritch
Not a lot I can say beyond seconding what David's said. Even if it has been stored for a while, Zero88's warranty period is (I believe) three years; if it is out of warranty, then they're pretty good at offering support then, too. WiLL
Zero88 are normally very helpful and eager to solve your problem as quickly as they can. Give them a call.
Techy John
There is of course the test mode that you can get to via the setup menu. This way you can test the wheels (or any other button, fader etc) to see if it is working before the effect of any patching comes into it. I would guess that would be the first thing that the very friendly folks at Zero88 would talk you through...
PaulDF
Has the desk had a bump?It could be that they wheels have been pushed into the desk, if you gain access to them below they may just need pushed back up and clipped back into place - this happened with my fat frog but I think they are the same wheels. tomscott
Hi, Have had a similar problem with our Jester ML, the right hand thumbwheel has stopped working twice now, luckily it was before the event and our dealer was good enough to let us borrow their showroom desk. I posted a question on the Zero88 support forums (http://support.zero88.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=5867), and received a quick reply from them. As I mentioned in the Zero88 forum, our dealer had our desk and took it apart, checked it and found no faults. Both times it stopped working, when I returned the borrowed desk, I powered up ours and it worked perfectly... Interestingly I spoke to the hire dept at our dealer and it was mentioned that occasionally their hire desk (ML48) the right hand thumb wheel won't return quite to zero, they "wobble it" whilst winding to get it down. Zero88 seem to think its a hardware issue (see support forum post). I am concerned that it decides to stop during rather than before an event. Our desk is only a few months old, believe we bought it in about May time and has been used 4 times now at events, along with being setup with a few lights when we first got it to get to grips with it. Anyone else had this problem? *Edited to add hyperlink
MobileMikey
Mine had exactly the problem jon outlined in his return post to you. The PCB for the wheel sensor must be sitting in its position correctly. It was such a simple fix. A concurrent post has been automatically merged from this point on. I am concerned that it decides to stop during rather than before an event. How often would you use the wheels once the show is plotted???

This is very true, I must admit that being rather new to this game, I hadn't considered that! But still, its a major pain going down at any time!
