peza2010
out a matter of interest, and to possibly put into use next year, is there an alternative to pyro's for a bit of "end of show magic"? Most theatres we visit allow pyro's, but some do not, so I was wondering if anyone knows of anything else that can give a nice effect and be allowed everywhere? I heard someone talking about Ice cannons/pyro equivilants....?? after a brief google search im a tad confused if these are what im after?? they seem to be used to flood clubs with a ice like material, not to "rain down on the band" any ideas and suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

peza2010
CO2 fired fetti or streamers. I find confetti and streamers a tad tacky for the style of show, but thanks for the suggestion

mrjammy83
Little bit of a thread Hijack Can you get multi shot Pyro or similar effects. eg. a Le maitre silverjet clicky vid But repeated from the same place. So not so much a pyro but a Spark spray generator. an old toy car I had as a kid used to produce sparks out the back when you turned the wheels. I.e a light flint thing

I love the standard "sparkle effect" (say either on the back bar firing down, or on the front of stage sparkling up)..The problem I have is I cant explain what I want (or find a google picture to show)
scjb
Google "ice fountain". They're a long duration, low level sparkly effect...

scjb
No worries. Be aware that they aren't really suitable for firing as a waterfall (mounted upside down, from the truss coming down to the floor).
wycome5
Might be worth pointing out a Le Maitre Ice Fountain only goes about 30cm, most people would refer to the effect you are looking for as a gerb (firing upwards) or waterfall/cascade (firing down), these are both 'proper' pyros though. Also an ice fountain will create smoke so the usual smoke detector checks need to be made. Some manufacturers do offer gerbs which they call Ice Fountains but check the effect you are buying first. I think the Ice Cannons you were referring to are probably Co2 jets. These are like a Co2 fire extinguisher and do not present the same issues as pyro. PM me if you need more details. slipstream
There is a machine in the "spray the fire" vein that produces a gerb type effect but is switchable, cant recall where I saw it but a search of all the usual sources in China is bound to throw it up. Pretty sure they were at the finale of Big Brother, on the ground either side of the stairs. How it works, goodness knows a power drill with a flint and a block of alloy probably knowing the chinese
slipstream
http://www.liuyangconfetti.com/victory/en/product.php?pid=91 Found it $700 for the machine and $5.99 per kilo for the shining star material Sam
scjb
Looks like a glitter blower with uplighting, rather than anything pyrotechnic in origin? Rather a pretty effect.
