Take a look at the Tannoy VNet subs. Built in processing and amps. Don't be put off by the fact they're not one of the obvious brands or that they are powered. They are incredibly capable.

As previously mentioned, the Martin Audio S218s pack a punch. You need some serious amps to get the performance levels you'll want though; probably worth looking at some second hand macrotechs to give you that real gut wrenching rumble.
