mwoke
My church has just bought a new Allen & Heath Zed 14. I have had it at home to mess around with it, test setups etc. I've noticed though that when I plug in my ipod/laptop to one of the stereo jack input channels the music comes through the speakers at a low level regardless of where the gain is or where the channel/master faders are. i.e. all levels can be completely off, even with the channel muted, and you can still hear the music, but at a very low level. It is only the stereo channels though as when I try it on the normal mic/line input channels it's fine. I take it this is not normal? Any ideas anyone? intyra
Purely by coincidence I've observed the same issue occurring on my ZED-420 this morning - audio is still passed to the right master at a low level even when the channel is muted, so perhaps it's a common problem. The ZED-14 does have separate USB, 2TRK and stereo RCA returns which can be routed to the LR bus directly, however you've mentioned you're using jacks so this is probably irrelevant. I'd imagine a call to the supplier that sold you the desk and/or Allen & Heath directly would probably help. Josh
