Andrew C
Sangamo time clock. Used for control of heating or lighting loads at 20A from memory. The clock and the base are separate parts, the clock just pulls out. You can alter the on/off bits by slackening the black knob. IT IS REVERSE THREADED. Dodgecaliber
Old timer used in schools (for the school bell) and buildings for lighting to be turned on/off. Last used late 80's I think....
Andrew C
Still current technology, reliable, simple, and fairly high current. I put one in for an immersion in the theatre a couple of years ago, and someone else did the same for an additional light in the car park. Not cheap though! Hmm... Look what you get if you Google Sangamo.

paulears
I've got one on my central heating, so has my mum. It's not really technical chat is it? I'll close this as it seems sorted.Paul
