Z3NO
I'm trying to simulate a rig containing 30 Clolor Blocks in Wysiwyg using Chamsys Magic Q PC. Which I then intend on transferring onto the real thing.Does anyone have any experience with this? Am I right in thinking that in Magic Q the patch refers to each individual cell rather than for each block? Would I select RGB mode for pixel mapping? In Wysiwyg the modes are different... How do I set them up so they speak the same language?Any help much appreciated.
Smiffy
Can't speak for the Chamsys but in WYG, right click the fixture and select properties. You will find the modes in their control options. If you have a lot of them, create a layer of just the blocks, make that layer current, then use the select current layer button. Right click any one of the fixtures and select properties, and you will be able to mod the control properties of them all at the same time. Be careful not to change DMX addresses and universes here though, or you will change them all to the same. Quick Tools is a useful way to address the fixtures once you have the modes set. Hope that helps, at least in part. Cheers Smiffy
Z3NO
Hi Smiffy,Thanks for your reply. That's all clear thanks. I know how to patch in Wyg. My question is more specific to the DB4s themselves and the Magic Q, as the patching information seems to be different on the 2 systems. I am basically trying to find a way to correctly setup the color blocks so I get an accurate visualization which will then easily transfer to the real rig without me getting some nasty surprises. Any thoughts on that?Cheers

In Chamsys you can create grids of LED - look at the relivant bits in the docs it is quite simple The patch been by cell or block depends on the mode you have the block controllers in - think there is also RGB & RGB+Dimmer modesHow much address space you can afford to the block 3 maybe worth think about to 30 block x 3 cells a block x 4 channels a cell = 360 channels If you want to hire DB4 try www.lighttheway.co.uk £10 per week per block inc. cables & PSU as required
