Modge
We're Stand 1-F27 which, crucially, is near the bar. Come have a play with LimeLIGHT or a chat. PM me if you're interested in seeing us there and you (like MartinKings above) find your self needing a ticket - we should be able to find you one. greenalien
I think the new Philips short arc discharge lamps will be well worth a look - Philips MSD Platinum 5R lamp (7950 lumen, 8000°K, 2000h) - nearly 8000 lumens from a 160W lamp is quite something, going to make a lot of manufacturers need to rethink their designs as it effectively makes current 250W and 575W devices obsolete. I know there's already an Elation design that uses this new technology and it will be interesting to see if anyone else has got off the starting blocks yet. I'm a fan of the MSD 250/2 which was their last game-changer, though not of the cheap - and unreliable - Chinese knock-offs of the 250 that have started appearing lately. maxjones2000
I hope I'm going as I'm seeing if my school will let me take it as an educational visit - if that fails, I'm going on the Sunday hopefully! I want to see the Martin Mac 350 entour :** laughs out loud **: along with the MacIII, and hopefully pick up some Avo training (if that even exists?!)! Oh, and looking foward to seeing the Tiger Touch... :D
mrcog
I'm going for the first time this year now I don't have college anymore! Looking forward to seeing/demoing the vista console assuming its being demoed this year... Also looking forward to checking out some of the chamsys consoles... And then I also want to take a look at the D1, D5 and SD9 consoles from digico... And then looking into various training courses now I've got a year off education before I either go to university or hopefully find a full time job! Also looking forward to a couple of seminars that are happening on the monday :D James
tommulliner
I pre registered a ticket for me to go for free, but as I live in Shropshire, getting to London isn't going to be easy/cheap, so will have to give it a miss this year. So PM me for a free pass. Says: 'Tom Mulliner' and 'Student' on it, so...
Jamtastic3
That's a point..... do Avolites do any training on their desks at PLASA? It would be good to see everything and get training too.
TomM
That's a point..... do Avolites do any training on their desks at PLASA? It would be good to see everything and get training too. They don't usually do active training sessions, they'll answer questions and what not, but for proper training, you'd probably do better by chatting to them about a session at their offices. I think they have someone who posts on here (can't remember who though!) so you might be able to drop a PM or even get a reply on here! PLASA (IME) doesn't work too well as an environment for training because it takes too long. As an individual you are better off chatting, and making an appointment to go in where there are usually dedicated facilities. As an exhibitor (I've not been one this is only an observation), I don't think you should promote it either - if you are spending all your time talking to what look like students who are there for an excuse to skip school, whilst I am trying to find someone to talk to about buying your product it can be frustrating and I've gone and bought the competitor's product because they wanted to talk to me!! EmmaThompson
Avo training most certainly does exist - however we do not carry out full training at PLASA - each course lasts a whole day so it would be pretty impractical! We do demos all day on all our consoles, the entire software, sales and R & D team will be on hand to help and answer any questions. If you are interested in full training after PLASA then you are very welcome to contact me and we'll get it booked in when the chaos that is PLASA is over! emma@avolites.com
