originalshez
Hello. Have been asked to get involved with the installing of some pixelline-esque fixtures in a stairwell. Obviously, with the fixtures being cheaper, the pixels are further apart, look more obvious etc. My preferred solution would be to put some sort of frosting over the front, thereby hiding the pixels. Just cutting some frosting gel and putting it over the front would be an ugly solution, so was just wondering if anyone here knew of a potential neater solution? Thanks in advance
ceecrb1
we use Traxon products a little and they are all frosted.. all we have are more squared than line though.... and they here in spain... but you can take a look with google.
Bråthe
Try to find some frosted plexiglas that is equally thick to the clear plastic I presume are in front of the pixels now and cut it to the same size. Often its not a very complicated process to swap them out. It will however steal some of the output.
niclights
Try to find some frosted plexiglas that is equally thick to the clear plastic I presume are in front of the pixels now and cut it to the same size. Often its not a very complicated process to swap them out. It will however steal some of the output. The problem with this (and gel) is you will be too close to the LED's to hide them or you have to use such a high density nearly all the output is lost. The trick is to find a way to stand off the plexi by a few inches. I found the ideal solution was to use two pieces - first a light frost next to the LED's and then a heavy frost spaced 50mm. The piece close to the LED's attached using existing fixings and the standoff achieved using hex pillars. Local signmakers supplied cut and drilled the plexi.
