Chamsys Magic Q and Capture Demo

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have recently been experimenting with Magic Q PC from Chamsys, and am trying to connect to one of the demo capture files from Chamsys' download site, however I cannot get the visualiser to respond.

The patch matches, and I have "Send to applications on this PC" enabled in MagicQ.

I am using MagicQ version 1.3.6.0 on a PC running Windows Vista and the capture file is the "Robe Artnet" one.

When I load the capture file, I get the following error message:

Multiple Network Addresses Detected. Please choose one in the options

Anyone able to help?

Have you read their 'interfacing to capture' guide from the download site? I suspect the bit you need to pay attention to is the loopback IP address, which needs setting in magicQ and also within windows. (127.0.0.1).

It sounds like at present the IP addresses for magicQ and windows are different, hence the 'multiple network addresses detected' message from capture.

Firstly, is there any reason why you're using a version of MagicQ which is 15 months old? We've had quite a few versions since then! Would definitely recommend upgrading to the latest stable.

I'm guessing thats just an information message where its found multiple network adapters on your PC and doesn't know which one to use. What does it show when you open up the options? Did you choose one to use?

Only because I hadn't got round to downloading the latest one ;)

I can't find any "options" to open... since it is a standalone capture file, and not the actual application

Now why didn't I try that before!?

Installed the latest release and it all works great

Thanks for your help!
