Jimbo The Wiz Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Obviously it is easy to hang them straigh down with Clamps attached but how do you hang the so the head when at 50% Pan 50% Tilt is facing the audience. I imagine it is with special clamps and a certain way of rigging but I am not sure. could some one help me.
timmath Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 I presume you mean side hanging them... just use half couplers instead of the usual hook clamp. regards Tim
Andy Mel Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Hi Jimbo, as Tim says use half couplers and out-rig! Make sure your fixing is up to it though.. thats a big twisting moment your locking off against. Make sure the coupler is good and tight to prevent slippage.. I thoroughly endorse wingnut spanners (wingnutspanner.co.uk) for this very job!!! Oh and don't use Tim to help... hes a bit short!!!! Play safe kids!!
colinmonk Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 ooo... Andy are you bullying Tim now? Hmmm.... Wingnut Spanners, what an amazing idea... Do you have any?
Jimbo The Wiz Posted October 26, 2004 Author Posted October 26, 2004 Oh, I got to get me one of those. what a tool. by any chance do you manufactor or sell this tool Andy. only all the pictures seem funnly enough to involve technician jobs, tighting bolts, cutting tape and most importantly opening beer bottles, the unltimate tool.
Andy Mel Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Hi Jimbo, I am indeed one of the parties behind said tool!! It was borne out of frustration during a tour with an overly large count of outrigged lamps on trusses and no way to tighten halfcouplers without damaging the wingnuts... a bit of planning and expenditure later and I think these are probably the best type yet (in a very biassed self promotional fashion!!). Cheers Andy Mel PS Colin.. you know Tim loves it....... see you soon
colinmonk Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 I would highly reccomend these ones as well, they are incredibly useful! PS: That is true Andy! - catch ya laters...
Don Posted October 26, 2004 Posted October 26, 2004 Hay Andy, Thanks for that tip (wingnutspanner.co.uk) been after one of those for a while, just purchased one. Cheers Chap. The Don
