Elysio
Hi All :) I am getting married next August in Liverpool and wanted the room to look all magical, as I love lights. I originally wanted starcloth and was quoted £3,000 for a room of 23m x 13.2m, which is over my budget. I have also looked at led uplighters, but can't find many people who supply it local and I have been told they are not very effective on papered/darker painted walls and should only be used on white/cream walls? I am after some advice please and need to put stuff up without ruining the walls?? CheersCheryl
jonhole
An image or two of the room, or maybe a website link if there are images on that, would make it much easier to suggest ideas - do you have any? Also, a rough idea of 'budget'?

Ynot
Well, you could try CSR in Nuneaton (my local supplier, but he works all over the UK). Send him the basic dimensions and he'll give you a better idea on cost.
Elysio
Hi Jonhole I have found a video of the Suites Hotel, Knowlsey on www.bigentertainments.com/tag/wedding-fair-liverpool/ it is near the bottom of the page. Also thanks ynot, will give them a ring. A concurrent post has been automatically merged from this point on. Also found some pictures on //www.flickr.com/photos/chaircoversweddings/page4/ , there are 6 pictures in total starting from Suites Hotel until picture SP A0045. Sorry I am not that technical and could not attach them to my post.
Ynot
How many sides are you looking at getting star cloth for?
Elysio
How many sides are you looking at getting star cloth for? Ideally the whole room, but I know that is expensive. I don't want just a 6m piece behind the dance floor, as we are not doing a sit down day, just a nightime so it is more like a party. Also tried e-mailing CSR and the e-mail bounced back to me. jonhole
Have you tried contacting the Hotel to see who they have had in before? Or even the company you linked to, Big Entertainment? It might be a good starting point, as they know the venue and have worked their before. I only stumbled on that site looking for pictures of the hotel and you are right I will give them a call. Thanks :)
AndyJones
If I were you I would have a Google, and try and find some corporate lighting companies, It doesn't matter where they are based, but have a look on their websites at there gallery's and see some of the things they have done before. It will give you lots of ideas about nice simple things you can include. Simple things like gobo breakups around the room, Pins potting tables, and up-lighters are very easy, and very effective at transforming a room. Are they light designs that can be projected around the room? but did not find much on pins potting tables, just a few pictures of potting tables for the garden?? Will go back and look again. Must admit I really like the gobo breakups.
tommulliner
Instead of having a star cloth, maybe use some star or break up gobos around the room and maybe the ceiling?! As Andy said maybe some led up lighters and pin spotting tables would look effective. Have a nice wedding.Tom. :)
DrummerJonny
try "pinspotting tables" :)
AndyJones
This gallery shows an event which has break-up gobo's (The snowflake) and the table centers lit using pinspots. as well as up-lighters, and other bits and pieces. The break ups can be anything that you want. Unless you have a particular theme, then just an abstract pattern works well. It is probably worth noting that most of these effects are made a lot more effective through the use of haze. Regards, Andy Jones
