MSD200 Strange colour

Well as the topic says it was only when I put one of my 812's next to the 518's I realised the colour difference the 518's light looks yellowish, the lamps are philips MSD200 the other odd thing is when they're first turned on the light goes it's proper shade of white with a blue tint then starts to go yellow.....

So question is are the lamps needing replacing? They both still look crystal clear and were replaced not long before I got them and I haven't used them much or maybe a voltage drop issue or something else?  :D

Have you stripped the units down and cleaned all the internal optics are clean? also is the small uv filter over the lamp housing still there? Could it be smoke fluid on the optics somewhere?

Discharge lamps of any type can differ vastly in colour temperature and hue, and yes they change as they warm up and as they age. Different types do this to different degrees. If consistency is what you're after, make sure all the fixtures have the same brand, type, colour temp (often a part number suffix) and age of lamp, that the fixture has the mains voltage tapping set correctly, or get a fixture that accepts a lamp that has a guaranteed colour over the majority of its lifespan. It is not fair with disco lights like these to be too nit-picky regarding this matter!

The photos youve posted show slight lamp misalignment as well, though it shouldnt affect colour significantly.
