badweasel
I've written a windows app that allows you to play with screen sizes, projector resolutions, throw distances etc. for determining how many projectors you need for a widescreen blend. Give it a try and let me know if you find it useful. Download here I have made the app free for personal use. It will try to install .NET Framework if your pc doesn't have it already. http://blendcalc.irisdown.co.uk/blendcalcss.gif I felt that this was the best place to post, let me know if it needs to go in another forum. eviljohn2
Excellent. This has a number of useful features that would have to be done by hand using the Barco software. It would be useful if you could enter a lens ratio and have it calculate the distance needed with that lens. Edit: Just found that feature! :)

badweasel
This works great thanks. Does anyone know of a program like this for a Blackberry? I know the I-phone has one. Do you know the name of the iphone app? I'd be interested to see what it's like. I am thinking of porting BlendCalc to Android if there's interest. Dave I'd be keen to have it on android, it would make life easier on site visits to explain to a client there and then what you were talking about. Great programme mate, well worth it. Definately saves time in the project planning stage using hand mathematics! :** laughs out loud **:

Wysiwyg101
A very nice widescreen calculator for the iPhone as well as a version for the iPad is called the Alford Calc created and produced by one of our higher end production companies, Alford Media Services. Blue Harvest
Hi, have you had a chance to look at making an Android app of BlendCalc? I use it often and would find it very useful to have out on site. Cheers

Shez
Hi Dave, Looks great but I can't install it Looks like your installer does my favourite installation trick and doesn't gracefully handle not being able to write to the user's start menu. (Our network is quite locked down - things like start menus and desktops are stored centrally for all users and are hence read-only.) Most software seems to default to putting their icons in the "all users" profile's start menu which always works but some installers only try the current user and crash & burn if they can't write to it. Perhaps something you could address in a future update?

Shez, On extracting the zip to a folder, navigate to Application Files\BlendCalc_2_4_0_0 and rename BlendCalc.exe.deploy to BlendCalc.exe, run this file from where you want and don't worry about the installation as long as you have .net installed. mac.calder
Any chance of getting 1280x768 added as a resolution? Or even better, the option to enter our own res's? Otherwise, an awesome app.
