Electrosonic ES7000 manual

Hi

I am new in this forum and sorry for my english .

I have the some Electrosonic ES7211 10A and ES7232 20A modules not working.

At the first first time on my table I connected the ES7211 module to the mains supply and to a load - an incandescent light bulb (500W ). With the TEST button on the front panel I Can swith-on and switch - off this load.

At a native working place for dimmer modules this system have many other equipment as the Control relay unit, the Scene set, the button control panels in the some configurations, too.

I have the Scenemaker user manual for the Electrosonic ES7000 system only.

For understanding how ES7000 system works all together, I have an interest to read much more about it.

Is it possible to make DIY the local button control panel for controlling the load light intensity for these dimmers ES7211 and ES7232 without any other systems parts?

Regards,

Janis

ES7000 series, analogue 0 - +10V control (more or less!), but nasty, nasty, tricksy (Live heatshinks!) things.

Assuming they are like the couple of dozen I skipped a year or so back, there will be a terminal block under the 2U connection panel where you connect the control voltage.

Note mine were the 6 * 10A variant they also made a house light dimmer version that used an outstation button box system that may be what you have. I cannot remember the control wiring details for these.

If it is the button box system that you have, Ewen Mcleod (if he is still at the Arnolfini in Bristol) may have some diagrams as that is what the house lighting in their cinema used.

These racks are not exactly the height of reliability, and you may want to go through and re solder all the connections on the control cards (It helps a bit), and beefing up the dropper resistor on the control card is also a good idea.

Personally I would go and find some old STMs or Permus or something, same era, MUCH better gear, and it is sometimes available for beer during upgrades.

Regards, Dan.
