chrismca09
Hi, I'm looking for a custom XLR patch panel which will fit in a 19" rack, not really what size in units it would be, as long as it fits everything in nicely. I've managed to ROUGHLY draw up something of which I'd like it to look like, Any ideas on who to approach for this? Many thanks in advance http://i670.photobucket.com/albums/vv62/chrismca09/NEWNEW_1.jpg
mervaka
what's the reason for the specific layout? technically a 3x8 or 2x12 off the shelf panel should suffice nicely.
Jivemaster
http://www.bryant-broadcast.co.uk/ These people know about the industry, may offer advice, will be able to do the job. Whether they are the cheapest or most convenient to you only you can determine.

johnhuson
I can highly recommend Andolite for custom panel work.
dbuckley
I've often wondered about Front Panel Express - you download their free design software, design your panel, upload it to them, pay, and it arrives. I have no experience of using them, but I haven't heard any horror stories.
Simon Lewis
I've often wondered about Front Panel Express - you download their free design software, design your panel, upload it to them, pay, and it arrives. I have no experience of using them, but I haven't heard any horror stories. A few of our final year students have used them (more specifically the German subsidiary) for custom panels. They look pretty good, and seemed quite reasonably priced.
Maddison
No reason not to do it yourself, for the cost of a QMAX punchtool from Canford...
Alec
No reason not to do it yourself, for the cost of a QMAX punchtool from Canford... Or get a 3u 3x16 pre-punched XLR panel (£12.98) and a number of XLR blanking plates (£0.54) along with the plugs/sockets you require. Won't look quite as pretty, but is *really* easy to reconfigure if your requirements change at a later date.

Depends how flexible he is.

True, though could place the LR in/outs on the left as two side-by-side pairs, top & bottom, rather than a vertical run. Obviously, depends on whether that's an acceptable solution in this application. Second guessing it from my perspective makes me think it might be... philetaylor
I do quite a lot of work with custom panels and Julian at http://www.thebeast.co.uk/ is pretty good, he made me a Midibox SEQ V4 panel, total cost including engraving (with infill) was about £100. There are various examples of his work on the website and he is very easy to deal with. Mentioning my name guarantees at least a 50% increase in price :) Cheers Phil
