metalgodusa
Hey all, Does anyone know the wattage for SR8's? I cant find it on the speakers. I havve dual channel amps that im running in parralle. My question really is since the amps are 450 per channel 900 bridged can I still run the sr8's off each channel withought cooking them? Is ths a bad Idea. I read somewhere that the sr8's are 500 watts a peice. but I do not know if this is true. Im runnng them at 4 ohms as well. thanks guys.
Sound Man
From what I've found on the inrternet, they are rated at 500w at 4ohm. David
Stuart91
One other thing worth remembering is that the SR8s have no built in passive crossover circuitry, so if you feed them a full range signal the drivers will fry. I found this out the hard way a good number of years ago when I upgraded from my first HiSys PA (which had passive crossovers) to a Celestion rig, then tried to run the subs from an aux. metalgodusa
Thanks for the reply, I have a celestion src1 mk2 in the mix. Do you know since the sr8's are 500 watts and my dual channel amps feed them 450 watts per channel is it ok? Or am I going to fry my subs? The amps came with the system so im assuming they were always being pushed by these amps.
