simonwest
Hello, quick question.... Does anyone know the most favourable (i.e. a uk provider?) place to buy qlab from? Is figure 53 us site the only place to buy/download from.... or does anyone know of another mac program where by you can set cues and trigger from midi and transmit midi messages. Thanks!Simon
ChrisBogg
You are best to buy from the Figure 53 site. The guys are great and Chris is always there to help answer any questions. Q Lab is the only Mac cue software I have seen worth touching. We use it for everything from video, midi to plating back 20 channels of band and its very stable. There are some companies in the UK that will build you a qlab system us included, but this would be for hardware and advice really software wise you should buy from Chris at Figure 53. Hope this helps. Chris
simonwest
Thanks Chris, I can build the hardware system myself (infact on the more basic jobs I'll just use a moto with my mac book pro), just new to the whole VAT reg / accounting side of my life and was simply looking for a uk sales receipt to try and offset the tax etc.... Heard very good things about qlab and have used it before in anger with great results. Also just seeing what else is around before I part with cash... Fed up with windows based machines and software, nothing but grief. My macbook pro runs windows 7 ultimate better than my i7 desktop machine and with less errors..hence the mac software search. ChrisBogg
No Worries Simon, We have recently invested in adding a new qlab dual system with two video outputs up to 32 audio outs on ADAT and full midi switching etc. If you need any advice on hardware etc PM me. kitlane
Hi Simon Don't forget you can rent a licence for $3 a day. Depending on how often you are going to use it, this might be an option.
