cameroncoats
I picked up a dead £200 fog machine for a tenner today, everything seems to be working other than 1) Can't get the pump to prime. 2) Not heating. I don't have a DMX controller or remote at the minute, anyone had any of the above problems with one of these?
KevinE
everything seems to be working other than... Sounds like NOTHING is working then!! At least your fault description is optimistic! The pumps dont usually run until the thing is up to temp anyhow unless the Z1200 is special, so look at the heater circuit; ie fuse>triac>thermal fuse>element
cameroncoats
Having taken the cover off and put 240v straight into the pump, it works fine but was just blocked, and the heater core runs well with a straight input too (Although the last one I did this to had a stuck on thermal safety and expelled the heater core in the form of a puddle of lead on my carpet.). Anyone know where I can get a new circuit board? (for the v1 model)
JackPott
I was hoping the last sentence of that post would be "Anyone know where I can get a new carpet?"
Wingwalker
This is genius :(
smalljoshua
Chances are, it needs the remote to be connected before it allows the heater block heat or the pump to function. Once you have sourced a remote control and tried it with that, if it still doesn't work then it is time to look deeper but until you have tried that, I see no point in looking for problems where there may not be any. KevinE
I agree. Is the thermocouple ok? I don't have a DMX controller or remote at the minute How are you telling it to heat?

Dip switches with assigned DMX values, on the back of the fogger. Remotes cost 65 quid... does anyone know how I can get it to heat without one (I have the wired remote from my old fogger, the one that killed my carpet, although the ends are bare wires - could I wire this in so that it would work on the antari? That very much depends on what model your old fogger was! :P Fogger remotes unfortunately tend not to be standard across manufacturers, but you might be lucky! Gerry
If it is an Antari fogger then it wont work without a remote plugged in.CheersGerry
