ExpressYourself
Hello,I run community music groups around the area. Mostly singing. We have some choirs where occasionally there are lead singers. It would be nice to have some wireless microphones (probably 2) so that they can sing and swap over etc without worrying about leads.I'm on a budget so can't afford to make a mistake. Can anyone recommend a 2 microphone wireless system that would suit? I hold my concerts in local community centres so there is no existing equipment. Just what I bring. I have speakers and a small mixing desk. I'm assuming I'll be using channel 70 (?)Thanks
David Lee
Have a quick search through the Blue room (search box on top of the page) as the frequencies are changing and has been very heavily discussed. This may not be a good time to buy radio mics.
DanHerbert
Channel 70 is remaining unchanged, therefore you will still be able to use the typical unlicensed frequencies beyond 2012
paulears
Channel 70 is remaining unchanged, so where will everyone on 69 who finds it unusable go to - yep, channel 70 - and how many channels are there there, er four! Channel 70 is going to be very busy, very unreliable and unpredictable!
revbobuk
I've found the Trantec s4.4 systems to be reliable and inexpensive - and the same would apply to the almost identical Freeport range. I've not had good results with the very cheap stuff from the likes of Gemini, Kam and so on. There's much more choice if your budget is a bit more, and YMMV. sleah
+1 for the Freeport/Trantecs. they would be perfect for your application and can be had for a reasonable price. CPC have recently had them for £109+VAT per system! Not bad for a quality brand.....
ExpressYourself
Hi everyone, Thanks for your input. I'm going to get 4 x trantec s4.4 - excited excited! I guess I'll need some cables too, and although I have a mini mixing desk (Alesis Multimix 4 USB) I guess with 4 trantecs plus audio input and perhaps a guitar I'll need some more ports. I'll start a new thread for that though! Helen
