davecowell
Hi All, Just joined after this site being recommended by a friend of mine. I was hoping that someone would be able to point me in the direction of the schematics for a Hammond Aurora Classic organ? If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Pete Alcock
I recently corresponded with a a widely published (in HiFi circles) gentleman called Stan Curtis about electromechanical organs. He used to play Hammond in a band and worked with Dave Martin (founder of Martin Audio) on electronics design. Have a look at his website. You may need to email him about specific needs. I'm sure he'll be able to help. Pete.

KevinE
Greenhills can supply most organl service manuals for a wee fee. The Aurora range were not tonewheel electromechanical organs, they were generally full-featured electronic organs spanning the mid 70's to mid 80's with drum sections etc.
risc
I have recently used a company to recondition a Leslie Combo pedal, they specialise in repair and recondition Hammonds and analog synthsA web search for the Hammond Hire company will find them, they are based in London and Coventry, these guys were top class
TimmyP1955
The Aurora is the type of organ that your great aunty used to play at the little parrish at the edge of town. It's not gonna give you a good jazz or rock tone. So long as you know what you'll have when you are done.....
KevinE
Auroras are very solid state. Most Hammonds did come with the option of an external leslie (some had them built in too) but the organs were generally assembled from japanese-built pcbs. Most 'hammond' specialists won't want to know about these, only the tonewheel series and 'tonewheel-like' solid state B200 series are really considered as 'proper' hammonds and sought after by musicians. Our local co-op was a Hammond dealer and I remember hopping from one Aurora to another tinkling away as a child until I was staggered to hear a faithful rendition of 'Chariots of Fire' from an older boy who grabbed all the attention. (That dates the era!).
